With school starting up again for every one very soon I saw the perfect opportunity to use this block

The Pencil Block

Since all will be busy getting back into the groove of school and their normal not summer schedules and everything this block seemed fitting all around. It's simple and sweet and a adorable necessity. It's easy enough that it won't take to long to cut out and piece together so you'll still be able to fit it in to your schedule while things are hectic but it's still cute and something that would be adorable and can be used in multiple functions! 

For the first time ever I won't be in school this year around this time but I'm still tempted to try to do something with it and give it to my sisters or others around me that are attending!

If any of you do try the block I would love to see how it turns out as always!

Squared Up Sunday - 7/31

 Today I am spending my time at one of my favorite festivals, Warped Tour, and since I am going to spend most of my day shining bright like a diamond here (just kidding, it's not that type of concert festival and the only shining I'll be doing is sweating) the most perfect block seemed to be this 

Simple and sweet Diamond Block, 

the block has a few pieces so there would be a little bit of difficulty when cutting and piecing everything together how ever, the personalization you could do when it came to colors and patterns would be awesome and there would be very few ways these blocks could turn out poorly.

They would be very neat to try and I think I have just the fabric to do it when I get back to my humble abode.

Squared Up Sunday - 7/24

 For the next week I am going to be at my Aunt's house visiting the great country side of Missouri,

and do you know what they have plenty of on the country side?

Animals. Horses, cows, chickens, donkeys, wild scary animals that live in the forestry really close to here. We saw a panther looking thing once and that was intense. The point I am getting at, is since I am going to be enjoying all of the animals around me this week, it would be fitting to use that for the other things that I am doing this week as well, so this week's Quilt Block is 

The Donkey Block

It's Interesting and definitely a force to be reckoned with, ironically almost the opposite to the Donkey in animal stero-type cases. The neat perspective of the Donkey makes the block intriguing and I really want to try it out once I get better at cutting pieces out, I should probably master the straight line before trying something like this.

Squared Up Sunday - 7/17

Though I'm not the best at quilting (it's a work in progress), I have to say a guilty pleasure of mine is going through Pinterest and staring in awe at all of the quirky, adorable and amazing quilt blocks. 

All of the blocks are just so creative and incredibly done, it's so hard not to enjoy them and imagine making them myself. 

With that being said, I want to share the enjoyment I from looking at all of the blocks (and poorly attempting to make them) with all of you so, I created Squared up Sunday! I day dedicated to showing the cutest and most interesting blocks I've found for all to try and enjoy! 

To start things off  and being in the summer-y spirit, this week's block is:

The PineApple Block

This block is perfect for a little coaster or for a large quilt you can take to sit on for picnics during these last few summer days, it's vibrant and refreshing and with the way this block is put together, there is plenty of room for variety and creativity when it comes to colors and patterns to use!

I hope you guys enjoy this little segment as much as I am going to! I may even end up trying out a few of the blocks and doing posts on the attempts as well, though I'm not sure yet there's so may ideas I have to go along with these and who knows what will actually come out of it all. I would love to hear your opinion on it, see quilt blocks you love and your attempts as well from all of this!

A Woman to Watch in 2016,

{ Possibly a new series of sorts, but it needs a better name }

You've probably seen these posts floating around Pinterest and Tumblr recently and have just sat in awe while you stared at them, well these dresses as well as tons and tons of other stunning dresses have all been created by 18-year-old Angela Clayton. She's brilliant, talented, and working non-stop to create all of her incredible master pieces that have been displayed all over the internet lately. Now, before you get discouraged (or seriously inspired) by these works of art and spend the rest of your day analyzing every detail of them to try and see how they work, know that not only does she have an awesome Tumblr and Wordpress blog that you can follow to keep up with her many projects, but you can also find her on youtube where she has tutorials and vlogs, along with incredible fabric and other crafting utensil hauls for you to follow and drool over as well (all of those links will be below the post).

I have had quite and obsession with dresses lately, and her works are absolutely inspiring to watch and read about being put together, I can't wait to work on some of my own ideas and projects for dresses this next year and her creations are just what I needed to keep me going even when I don't have the least bit of motivation, I am in love with everything she has done so far and can't wait to see what she'll come up with in 2016 and once you see her in work I'm sure you will too. She is someone to definitely keep an eye on this year,

Back to school grab bags!

Ahoy fellows! For the next few weeks we are going to be doing a lot of hopefully, fun back-to-school stuff for you guys, we're going to have make up tutorials, fashion tips, etc. and to make all of that even better The KNITche is going to grab bags each week instead of a back-to-school sale, all of them slightly similar but different to the ones before it. I'm Back!

Hey guys, it's been a few months sorry to stop posting so abruptly for such a decent amount of time I got busy for one and two I couldn't find anything to write about. I was trying to pressure myself to write specifically about things and not what I truly felt. That sounds silly because I never really posted much anyways, but it was more of a self revalation thing rather than anything else, but I've come over that and I'm no longer doing ten thousand things constantly, (just maybe five thousand things instead.) and I'm excited to actually get this blog up and running! I'll start posting soon, I may have segments or they may just be random, I have had a lot of ideas and I want to try all of them so things may be kinda crash course for a while but it'll definitely keep things interesting! My post may range from little things like what's going on that day or a little bit of photography taken, something like that to big things like DIY tutorials or reviews on things who knows! I'm ready to get going and finally see what's in store. I hope all of you are still on board with me too.

0309 Pinterest obsession: tumblr journals,

I've always had a joy for scrapbooking, collages, and journals. I've also always had a love for odd pictures, sayings. etc. These journals bring all of that together in the cutest manner and I can't stop obsessing over them, within the last week I filled my Pinterest with thousands of these pictures, now I've sat through and picked my favorites to show you. You can find all of these on my Pinterest or just pin them from here if you like them too. I'll be trying ideas I have from some of these soon and can't wait to see how they turn out.

Mini March Mood Board,

The month of March is odd, it's the transition month between winter and spring, so everything about March could be unexpected. It leaves the feeling of risks and wanting to take chances. It also means ELLEs spring fashion magazine, which is exciting and inspiring. My mood board as of this moment for March isn't large, but it might grow. At the moment it's just inspiration and the beginning of a little expectation. Just the way March isn't.

1st: I have my ELLE magazine. This is by far my favorite issue probably every year. The ads are always creative and give me ideas for color schemes or things to try and create based off of trends I notice; and the articles are a little bit more drastic than the ones written the rest of the year, which entertain me. As you can see I'm already beginning to go through it and tag my favorite articles and ads I've found so far, but I'm barely have way through the book so there is definitely more to come. 

This leads me to my second item,

2nd: Flag like sticky notes. I recently received this on an issue of Mollie Makes. I have a thing for sticky notes, I don't know why, but I have to tag and write about everything so they come in handy when I don't want to write or dog tag on the pages. These though, I am enjoy particulary well. The shape is more convient than the average square and it makes my tags look nice while still having enough room to make little notes on them. 

3rd: My labels. I use these as an expectation and a goal almost to help me keep creating. There are so many I have yet to use and that makes me want to create more. This month I'm determined to work on them and use as many of my labels as possible.

4th: My new Snake arm band, I have an odd love for snakes and I plan on getting one in the distant future when I'm more settled. I also enjoy little pieces of jewelry like this even though I don't wear a lot of it when I do I like to express an odd sides of me that aren't normally shown.
5th: My Pierce The Veil wrist band, Pierce the Veil is probably one of my favorite bands and I get to see them again this month which makes me incredibly excited and pumped. Their shows are always exciting and inspiring, making it an entire month joy anytime there near my town.
And last my
 6th item: The iPad mini I have shown. This is probably more of a life line than my phone. I do a large amount of work from my iPad, gathering ideas, researching, drawing, reading, writing, editing photos, I do all of it on my iPad, so it's shown because it is like my left leg most of the time and so it could a mood board probably dedicated all to itself.

Just a heads up. With all of this,  I am already working on and conjuring up a few more blogs that you all will enjoy that will be released later this week. I usually do not add things like this unless it's an update but since it has to do with items on my mood board why not keep you in the loop?

Making Elastic Headbands,

Headbands can sometimes be ridiculously expensive, and so I decided to make my own. 

You will need : 

Elastic 

Ribbon

Hot Glue Gun

Glue

(1) First you need about a 4-inch piece of elastic then (2) you need a long strand of ribbon, for the easiest way of measurement wrap it around your head and come to right behind your ears for the best fit. (3) After you have these pieces you will take the glue gun and put a decent amount of glue on the edge of the elastic, (4) next you will place the ribbon in the spot where the glue is, let it set for a second and then press down, because of the materials that are in the two pieces the hot glue seems to create a seal when you look at it. You'll want to  repeat steps 3 and 4 on the other side before continuing. (5) Following that cut 2 2-3 inch pieces of ribbon, (6) these you are going to you use to cover the ends giving your headband a more clean and finished look. Add glue to the end section wear  your ribbon and elastic meet, set one end of the ribbon on the glue and press, after holding for a  second continue to put glue on the opposite side of where you just were and wrap the ribbon around the section. Then add a tiny bit more glue to the front and finish the wrap. (7) Finish this section by cutting off any extra that might be there and them repeat steps 5-7 on the other side. Your finished product should look like step 8 above. If the headband doesn't turn out how you planned or you don't want to make your own I always have mine on sale 3 headbands for $6 on my Etsy shop. Socks On Sunday,

Yesterday night I spent a few hours playing around with my yarn and what came out of it was great a cute pair of purple fuzzy crocheted socks. I've always found the best things happen when you're not stressing over creating anything, and it's true. I have been stressed for weeks about getting more products out on the market for the KNITche and when I finally stopped stressing out about it and just starting working, things worked out. I hope to get out a step by step Picture crochet pattern soon (because I'm really bad at explaining them, or just reading them for that matter) for you all to use and for those that don't crochet and want a pair they are already up for sale on the Facebook page. Finding Inspiration Every Where You Go,

  This weekend I took a trip to Tulsa and while I  was in the city I went on a few mansion tours and to the aquarium, photographing anything I thought might provide even the slightest of inspiration, and some of it did. The usage of the space provided even in mansions was incredible, and the color palettes I found in the aquariums were very influential in a few ideas I have for items I hope to be posting soon.
                             Inspiration is every where, you just have to look for it.

New Products from the KNITche,

New products were recently released on to the KNITches page ( link below ) Three chalk board jars were recently added (and one none decorated on was released but not depicted). While Shooting pictures of these jars I had a little fun and used them to my entertain meant, I thought you guys would find it slightly entertaining as well.

Artist's Block : A deadly disease

Lately, I have had a horrid case of artist's block for the blog and the company. Along with that, I have had a constant movement of things that needed to get done, so, nothing has gotten done. I apologize for the lack of words the past week or two but I'm going to attempt to beat this block and get it all in track. I think I'm going to try and have certain blogs on certain days those will  hopefully home about within the next week. I'd love to hear feed back from you guys on things you want to read about and things you've already read.

The best way to find things,

As a creative person, I often go looking for things : inspirations, marketing tips, learning how to do things and so on. People will always tell you to go to youtube that's the one place you'll always find things, I disagree. Youtube is great for many things but, finding exactly what you need in a timely manner not always so much. I've found that the best place to find things for a creative mind is Pinterest, it identifies key words, almost always has multiple options for what you are looking and 95 percent of it is more reliable that gritty video you've spent 10 minutes trying to watch because you couldn't find the better version (because it has give you the best youtube version there). Youtube is definitely a great source and a last resource go to for everything but always try Pinterest first, it saves time and frustration, which if you are like me could use a lot less of.

Inspiration in an artillery base, A trip to the museum

Today, I went on to the base that is connected to my town and took a quick trip to the artillery museum; what I found was an extraordinary amount of inspiration I was not expecting. A beautifully aged car, a piece of the Berlin wall and an old war pillow that just caught my eye a little to well. I found it all to be educating on a history level but also, inspiring in a new light I would love to create and maybe embroider a pillow that looks similar to above and the Berlin wall is such an artisic kiss off to the government that I can't handle the excitement and momentum to work it brings to me. As for the car, I have a love for odd antiques and old cars is definetly one of them. I own a not so antique '87 ford and it is a very large love and inspiration of mine, so seeing a beauty like the pontiac above makes me want to scream from the roof top (especially,  since it's a favorite color of mine.) All of these things gave me a few ideas that I can't wait to start.

A quick thought to jot,

I've been thinking a lot into trying to paint on some extra squares of crochet I have. If all works right it'll seem together to create enigmatic (word of the day) colors, though I'm afraid of the mess it might create, (I'm good at creating not so much cleaning) I plan to try tonight and if all goes well pictures will be up soon.
